Zaire Wade Arrested on Felony Domestic Violence Suspicion in Burbank

Zaire Wade was arrested in Burbank, California, on June 21 on suspicion of felony domestic violence. He was released shortly before noon the same day on $50,000 bond, and the case went to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for possible charges.

Dwyane Wade and Zaire Wade

Zaire Wade is the son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, and the arrest puts a public name at the center of a case that moved from a 911 response to a felony booking in one morning. Police responded early after a woman was reportedly screaming at the home.

Officers found Zaire Wade and a woman there. The woman reportedly had lacerations on her face and body, and paramedics attended to her; she did not go to the hospital.

Burbank Police Response

Police arrested him on suspicion of felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment. A handgun was taken from the house, and an emergency protective order was put into place.

That sequence leaves the key legal step with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, which now has the case for possible charges. The same-day release on bond does not end the matter; it only resets it to the charging decision and whatever follows from there.

Zaire Wade's Background

Zaire Wade played at Sierra Canyon School and later went to the G League and overseas instead of college. Dwyane Wade said in a 2025 video on Today With Jenna & Friends that his son told him, "My son Zaire said to me, he was watching me walk to the bathroom, he was [saying] I’m Superman," during his 2023 kidney cancer battle.

He also posted on Instagram in 2020 about Zaya, writing, "I’ve told you that I would lay my life down to make sure you are ten toes down and happy on this earth. I don’t care what they think Z, you are my best friend and I love you kid, and if it means anything, just know there’s no love lost on this side."
