Two men aged 18 and 19 died after an A13 crash on the eastbound carriageway in Newham on 25 June. The Metropolitan Police said three people were taken to hospital, including a 16-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries. Three men have been arrested as enquiries continue.
James Beck appeal
James Beck, a Detective Chief Inspector in the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, appealed on 26 June for witnesses and dashcam footage after the collision. He said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones following this tragic incident.”
Beck added: “As we work to build a picture of the circumstances, we are keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision – particularly those with dashcam footage.” The police asked anyone with information or footage to call 101 and quote reference 01/7736458/26, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Newham collision
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of the A13 in Newham at 20:15hrs on Thursday, 25 June, after reports of a multi-vehicle collision. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The London Ambulance Service took three people to hospital, and one of them was a 16-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries. The Metropolitan Police said the three men arrested were aged 18, 19 and 23 and were held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Beck also said: “We are aware of videos circulating on social media which appear to show the aftermath of the collision.” He said: “We remind people to be respectful of the impact of this footage and encourage people not share and instead contact police directly if they have information.”
