Kevin Hassett, the director of the National Economic Council, said on June 29 that “We're having a big opening bell ceremony next week” and that “They're doing that to celebrate the accounts to make sure everybody knows it's time to get an account for your kid, even if it's not born this year.”

Trump Accounts launch on July 4

Trump Accounts will officially launch on July 4. The program includes a $1,000 government contribution for children born in 2025 through 2028 who have a Social Security number. Families can add up to $5,000 annually, and employers can contribute $2,500 per year per employee until the child turns 18.

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will take part in the ceremony from the Oval Office, adding a public launch for a program aimed at long-term savings for children. The NYSE and Nasdaq share the same trading hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, but they use different bell rituals, with the Nasdaq bell rung through a ceremonial electronic button at Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square.

What the White House has not given

The White House has not immediately provided the exact date of the Oval Office ceremony or details about the bell that will be used. That leaves the main public milestone fixed — July 4 for the launch — while the live ceremony itself is still awaiting a date.
