asked Liverpool fans who the club should turn to after Yan Diomande looked likely to choose PSG, and the replies split between another big move and staying put. David Ornstein was the frame for the latest transfer chatter, but the real story was how quickly the discussion moved from Diomande to the names Liverpool supporters want next.
David said he would go all out to get Bradley Barcola from PSG. His line was blunt: “Diomande looks to be dead in the water now. I would go all out to get Bradley Barcola from PSG. I think his style of play would be a good fit for us.”
Barcola leads the fan vote
Nigel backed the same direction. “He's not proven and the price they are asking is too much. Think Liverpool have dodged a bullet there. I'd go for Barcola.” That put Barcola at the front of the supporter reaction, with PSG the club that sits at the center of both the Diomande preference and the alternative target.
Gareth added a different angle on Barcola, pointing to Mohamed Salah’s space and the winger’s two-footed ability. “Barcola is a great player. He looks to be two-footed, so although he plays a lot on the left could he move into Mohamed Salah's space?”
Bowen and Liverpool options
Jarrod Bowen also drew support. Gaz said he would cost about £40m, and added that he scores 12-15 goals per season and provides five-11 assists per season. Tony called him “the obvious choice” and said, “The guy is a grafter and never stops running. You know he will give 100% every game - plus, he won't be as overpriced as any of the other names being touted.”
Simon offered the counterweight. “If we can't get Diomande, I would be tempted to stick with what we have.” He then named Victor Munoz on the right, said Rio Ngumoha would do a good job there, and added that Harvey Elliott has shown he can operate on the right wing. He also said Florian Wirtz can occupy the left-wing spot and Cody Gakpo can play there, too.
What Liverpool fans said
The wider response spread well beyond one replacement. Samers said he would like Eli Junior Kroupi but did not think that was realistic. The comments showed two clear paths for Liverpool: move for another winger such as Barcola or Bowen, or trust the players already in place.
Gareth also argued against chasing Diomande, saying, “Glad we've not got Yan Diomande. His first touch looked poor and we would lose him to Afcon.” That leaves Liverpool supporters with the same split question the club now faces: whether to go after Bradley Barcola or another winger, or keep the current options and move on from Diomande’s PSG preference.
