Jett Harrison Commits to Ohio State as No. 4 2028 Prospect

Jett Harrison committed to Ohio State on Wednesday, July 1, giving the program a five-star wide receiver in the 2028 recruiting cycle. The move adds another Harrison family name to Ohio State’s receiver pipeline and puts one of the cycle’s top pass catchers on the Buckeyes’ board early.

Jett Harrison and Ohio State

Harrison is the No. 4 overall player in the 2028 recruiting cycle and the No. 2-ranked wide receiver in 247 Sports Composite Rankings. At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, he already carries the profile of a high-end outside target, and Ohio State did not have to wait until late in the cycle to secure that commitment.

He was also drawing interest from Oregon, USC and Penn State, among others, which makes the commitment more than a simple addition to the class. Ohio State beat out a list of programs that had already spent time on one of the top receivers in the cycle.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Connection

The family link gives this move a familiar shape for Ohio State. Marvin Harrison Jr. played at Ohio State before becoming a current Arizona Cardinal, and Jett Harrison is the next Harrison receiver to align with the program.

That connection is part of the backdrop here, but the production stands on its own. As a freshman in 2024, Harrison scored 10 touchdowns, led St. Joseph's Prep to a PIAA 6A championship and caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the title game against Pittsburgh Central Catholic. He was also named a MaxPreps All-American.

Jamier Brown in Ohio State

Harrison is expected to join Jamier Brown at Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes another early piece in a receiver group that is already taking shape around the 2027 class and the 2028 recruiting cycle. Brown is the No. 23 overall prospect in the 2027 class at receiver, so the pairing gives Ohio State two high-end wideout additions across adjacent cycles.

For Ohio State, the commitment is about more than landing a name. It secures a top-ranked receiver with verified production, keeps the Harrison line attached to the program and gives the Buckeyes another elite piece before the cycle reaches its busiest stretch.
