Video of the bus showed it encroaching on the property's frontage after the crash. A sash window was dislodged from its frame, adding to the visible damage at the residential property in west London.

Met Police officers attended alongside the London Fire Brigade. No arrests had been made, and no criminal offences had been identified.

Transport for London and First Bus

Transport for London said it was working with First Bus to investigate the incident. Kensington and Chelsea Council said the damage was being assessed, and Johnny Thalassites said council officers were on site with dangerous structure engineers to assess the damage.

He said: “We'd expect an investigation to be underway to establish the cause, but we're just glad nobody appears to be seriously hurt”.

The crash left the building needing a structural check rather than a medical response. What now matters for the people closest to St Quintin Avenue is whether the assessment shows the frontage can be secured without further disruption.
