Four-thirty in Fiji
Madix said she was “I’m so over the moon” about the nomination, but the first reaction came from nerves. “I was dead asleep. It was 4:30 in the morning here. And my room phone, not my cell phone, started ringing and as an anxious person, that is terrifying,” she said, adding that she ran to the phone worried something bad had happened.
Her team then told her about the nomination and congratulated her on the spot. Madix said she and the callers were “all so excited on the phone,” which matters here because the nomination arrived in the middle of production, not from a quiet home base where she could control the moment.
Three seasons on Love Island USA
Madix has hosted Love Island USA for three seasons, joining in 2023 for season six. That timeline gives the nomination a clear career marker: it is not a one-off guest spot, but recognition for a role she has held across multiple seasons.
She said the moment felt “really crazy and amazing and cool” because she saw her name and picture next to people she calls her TV heroes. Madix also said the nomination felt “extra special” because it was for hosting Love Island USA, and that she thinks people responded to her love for the job and the show on screen.
Emmys on Sept. 14
The 78th Emmy Awards will air live on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and stream live on Peacock, while the Creative Arts Emmys will take place on Sept. 5 and Sept. 6. Madix said she plans to celebrate with sunset drinks with her team at a lovely beach bar in Fiji.
