The timing matters because Arsenal have already agreed to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas. On Tuesday afternoon, the club confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of the 31-year-old winger, and Fabrizio Romano said the deal had been finalised. Arsenal added that Trossard has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul for a medical and to complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.
Why Tzolis is in the frame
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal want to use the Trossard departure to push ahead with the next phase of their rebuild, with Christos Tzolis and Morgan Rogers now the primary focus as Arteta looks to strengthen the squad before the new season.
