Bracknell Forest Council has approved a detailed car park management plan for KFC's Bagshot Road drive-thru, clearing the way for the site to open until 2am. The latest approval follows earlier late-night opening approval from the licensing committee and moves the project past the last planning obstacle.
Between 11pm and 2am, orders will be taken only through the drive-thru lane. Customers and delivery app drivers will not be allowed to park on site after 11pm, and staff must use the southernmost aisle before the extended hours begin.
Bagshot Road drive-thru rules
The plan sets out a tighter parking system for the late-night period. Automatic number plate recognition cameras will enforce a shorter maximum stay after 11pm, while signage, cones and retractable bollards will cordon off parts of the car park.
Staff will also monitor the site and ask any drivers who linger to leave quickly and keep noise down. The restrictions are aimed at managing late-night traffic and reducing disturbance linked to the Bagshot Road drive-thru in Bracknell.
Glebewood parking limits
The planning issue had centred on the car park, not the menu board. The management plan was designed to address concerns about nearby homes in Glebewood, and the council had been holding out for those details before signing off.
That split between licensing approval and planning conditions explains why the drive-thru had not yet fully moved to 2am opening. One route through the process was already clear, but the parking plan had to be accepted before the late-night hours could be put into practice.
Planning conditions remain
Only formal discharge steps on planning conditions now remain before KFC can fully implement the extended opening hours. The plan also includes a review mechanism: if the council reports complaints, it can be strengthened within a month.
For customers, that means the late-night service is close, but the final paperwork still stands between approval and a full 2am trading pattern. For nearby residents, the rules are set to shape how the site operates once the extended hours begin.
