Georgia Bureau of Investigation executes Gbi Search Warrant Yurezz in Baxley

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation executed a Gbi Search Warrant Yurezz at Yurezz Home Center in Baxley, Georgia, on Thursday as part of a multi-state fraud investigation. The case follows the June closure of the business, which left many customers with unfinished homes and losses of thousands of dollars.

The GBI said customers who believe they were defrauded or did not receive goods or services from Yurezz Home Center in 2025 or 2026 can submit information through the See Something, Send Something mobile app, by calling 1-800-597-TIPS and selecting Option 2, or online through the GBI tip form.

Richard Carl Altman arrest

Richard Carl Altman, 42, was arrested in Baxley on July 8 and charged on July 9 with illegal transmission of monetary funds. The search warrant came after that arrest, placing the latest step in the case after the first criminal filing and giving investigators another chance to collect records or other material tied to the alleged fraud.

Yurezz Home Center served customers in Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Northern Florida and East Tennessee, and the GBI said it is looking for information from people who bought from the business during 2025 or 2026. For a reader who lost money or a home contract in that period, the practical next step is to send details through one of the three methods the agency listed, rather than waiting for the investigation to surface them elsewhere.

GBI tip options

“If you believe you were defrauded or did not receive goods or services you purchased from Yurezz Home Center in 2025 or 2026, there are three methods available to submit information.”

The GBI did not share any details about what, if anything, the search turned up. That leaves the search as a procedural step, not the end of the case, and puts the burden on affected customers to help fill in the record if they have paperwork, payment information or other proof tied to their purchase.

What investigators found at Yurezz Home Center during the search warrant execution is the question still hanging over the case. Until the agency says more, the most useful move for customers is to use the tip channels the GBI opened and keep their own records ready for follow-up.
