Vodafone TV will launch in the UK from October, giving new and existing Vodafone customers on home broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile plans access to a new entertainment hub. The service brings live TV, streaming, gaming, music and apps into one interface.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, said the platform is aimed at families and is built around a small set-top box with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. He said: “Vodafone TV is so much more than TV, it’s a family entertainment platform that brings together live TV, On Demand, streaming, gaming, music and all the apps on the Google Play Store.”

Winterschladen also said: “The entertainment experience is powered by our small yet mighty set top box with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.” He added: “We’ve made it simple to find and discover content through smart AI voice search and personalised recommendations linked to a user’s profile.”
The companion app extends the service beyond the living room, with profiles, recommendations, favourites and gameplay carried across devices. Vodafone says customers can use it at home and on the move, which makes the box only part of the product rather than the whole service.
Netflix, HBO Max and Freely
Vodafone TV includes Netflix and HBO Max, and Freely is built in. Freely brings together over 70 live channels and thousands of hours of on-demand content from the, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and more. Vodafone TV also gives access to more than 300 cloud games and lets customers rent or buy films through Vodafone Box Office.
Customers can add Disney+, YouTube Premium, DAZN, Spotify and Prime through Vodafone Subscription+ on a 30-day rolling basis. The Google Play Store is also part of the service, with Vodafone saying that setup is designed to keep apps, subscriptions and live television in one place rather than spread across separate devices.
Vodafone Subscription+
That simplicity sits beside a more complicated reality: the service bundles multiple paid and free options across different platforms. Vodafone TV is presented as a single hub, but customers still have to choose which services to add, and the extras run through Vodafone Subscription+ rather than coming as one fixed package.
Paolo Pescatore said: “Vodafone TV is one of the strongest family entertainment offerings in the UK and provides a clear direction of where home entertainment is heading.” For customers, the practical next step is straightforward: those on qualifying Vodafone plans can look for the October launch window and decide whether the box, the app and the add-on services fit the way they already watch TV.
