Ryan Nembhard did not play in Monday's 96-88 Summer League win over Memphis because of an illness and was considered day-to-day.
The short-term absence comes after a productive start in Las Vegas. In his two Summer League appearances, Nembhard combined for 27 points, five rebounds, 16 assists, two steals and one block, giving the Mavericks a useful look at his playmaking and all-around activity.
For now, the update is straightforward: Nembhard is unavailable for Monday, but the outlook is not expected to be long-term. His next chance to get back on the floor is Thursday versus Oklahoma City.
What it means for Dallas
With Summer League lineups often changing quickly, Nembhard's status matters because he has already shown he can help organize an offense and create for others. If he is able to return Thursday, he will have another opportunity to build on that early production and continue his run in Las Vegas.
