Chris Rock’s third feature
Misty Green is Rock’s third feature film as director, following Head of State in 2003 and I Think I Love My Wife in 2007. Rock’s 2023 live Netflix special Selective Outrage already showed how directly he can build a project around personal material. Driver’s character sharpens that drift with a card at a party and the line, “I’m looking for open-minded friends who might want to make a little extra cash.” The trailer cuts from that pitch to him dangling a necklace over a pool while girls reach for it, then to soundstages, wild parties, lonely city streets, and jail.
Teyana Taylor casting chatter has already shown how much attention Rock-era projects can pull around the edges, but Misty Green is built to sell on the main event: whether Eleazar’s character can climb back without getting swallowed by the same system that first elevated her.
