PT Organics fruit pouch recall covers select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit purée pouches sold nationwide at Target, Kroger and Meijer after the company found a packaging defect that could leave soft plastic inside some pouches. PT Organics Limited said consumers should not eat the product or feed it to another person.
The recalled pouches are 4-ounce, or 113-gram, packages sold between March 6 and July 13. The Food and Drug Administration published the recall on Tuesday, and PT Organics said the affected products can be identified by barcode 8 15367 01078 0, lane number 4 and best-by dates in 2027.

PT Organics Limited said no injuries have been reported. The company also said no other Pumpkin Tree products, flavors or best-by dates are affected. For shoppers, the practical step is to check the back of each pouch for the barcode, lane number and best-by date stamped in black ink.
The recalled dates are Jan. 19, 2027; Jan. 20, 2027; March 17, 2027; March 18, 2027; May 14, 2027; and May 15, 2027. PT Organics said the issue is tied to the pouch packaging itself rather than the fruit purée, which narrows the recall to a specific production run instead of the full product line.
Target Kroger and Meijer
PT Organics said it started the recall after its packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches last week. Inspections of finished products then found that some pouches contained a strand of soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of the packaging.
That leaves affected customers with a straightforward check: if the pouch matches the barcode, lane number and one of the listed best-by dates, it belongs in the recall. If it does not match those identifiers, PT Organics said other Pumpkin Tree products remain outside the action.

The recall is limited, but the sales footprint was broad enough to matter to families who bought the pouches at Target, Kroger and Meijer nationwide. A pouch bought months ago can still sit in a pantry and still fall within the recalled dates.
