Megan Gustafson married David DiLeo on Saturday, July 18, at Bella Sala in Tiffin, Iowa. The wedding put a clean date on a relationship that had already moved from July of 2025 engagement news to a finished ceremony, with Gustafson posting her own note afterward.
“JUST MARRIED my best friend! 👰🏻♀️💍🤵🏼♂️Love you always, @Daviddileo14 🥰” she wrote on July 21, 2026. That message did more than mark a personal milestone; it gave the public the simplest version of a private event that now sits alongside her work with the Portland Fire and DiLeo’s overseas plans in Turkey.

The setting mattered because the guest list tied the day back to Gustafson’s Iowa roots. Friends and family were there, along with the entire staff of the Iowa women’s basketball team and coach Jan Jensen, while Ticha Penicheiro also attended. Lisa Bluder served as the wedding officiant, giving the ceremony a direct link to the program that helped define Gustafson’s profile.
Pancake, Gustafson’s Instagram-famous corgi, was part of it too. So were several other familiar faces from the Iowa orbit, including Kris Murray, Jack Campbell, and Beau Stephens. For a wedding, that is a pretty efficient way to show how one athlete’s personal life still overlaps with a network built around the program and its former players.
Long-distance and the next season
One line from the couple explains the practical part of their story better than any polished wedding caption could. “As athletes, we travel and have been long-distance quite a bit. And so we are looking forward to being with each other in person much more in our future, supporting one another through the rest of their careers and beyond,” they said in comments to People. That is the real near-term adjustment: marriage is now settled, but the routine still has to fit two professional calendars.
Gustafson is averaging 12.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game on 54.5% shooting and 40% from 3-point land in 24 games played, a strong enough line to keep her season central while the wedding settles in around it. DiLeo is preparing for his upcoming season overseas in Turkey, so the next phase for the couple is less about ceremony than logistics, distance, and how much time they can actually spend together before careers pull them apart again.
