Kenmore air crash reports came in Thursday after a Kenmore Air flight went down in the water near Sucia Island in San Juan County. Rescue crews moved to the area as the aircraft was reported down and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted operations on scene.
Lake Union route
A Kenmore Air spokesperson said the aircraft left Lake Union at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday and was headed to Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. That route gives the flight a clear point of departure and destination, which is the information travelers and families would use first while crews work the scene.
Kenmore Air said the flight was carrying 10 people. Orcas Island Fire & Rescue initially reported as many as 11 patients could be involved, leaving two preliminary counts in circulation while responders assessed the water and accounted for those aboard.
