Mikel Arteta has already told three Arsenal players they can leave as the club continues its summer squad revamp at the Emirates Stadium.

Those moves show that Arsenal are not simply adding depth for the sake of it. Arteta and Andrea Berta are clearly making decisions with the shape of the squad in mind, and that includes allowing players to move on when they are no longer seen as required.
For Arsenal, the timing matters. The club are still working through the rest of the window, and this kind of squad turnover suggests there could be more movement before the market closes. It also gives a stronger sense of how the next version of the team is being built, with Arteta prioritising changes that improve the first-team rather than keeping the status quo.

Karl Hein made his Arsenal first-team debut in November 2022 in the EFL Cup third round against Brighton, while Christos Tzolis' recent output at Club Brugge underlines the sort of productive attacking profile clubs continue to monitor in the market. Arsenal's task now is to make sure the players coming in fit the level Arteta wants, while the players leaving find the right next step.
