In her Instagram Story, she wrote that their child should have worn his life jacket for the entire ride and added, “We are painfully aware that in a matter of seconds, your entire life can change, and we should have done better.”

Kiser said there had been “a deep level of anger and hurt directed toward our family,” and she tied some of that reaction to “the belief that Trigg should still be here.” She also wrote, “He was only three years old, and should have lived a lifetime more.”
The public response landed in the middle of a family already shaped by loss. Trigg died in May 2025 at age 3 after accidentally drowning in the family’s pool, which made the boat footage harder for many fans to separate from earlier grief.
