Mike Arkin Leads Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos to Nintendo Switch in Q4 2026 — Nintendo Everything

Argonaut Games has announced Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos for Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Everything now has a concrete Q4 2026 window to work with. The remaster puts the 3D platformer back in motion after last year’s return of the first game, with a new release plan, added features, and a digital museum attached.

Mike Arkin on Croc’s return

Mike Arkin said Croc’s successful return exceeded what Argonaut Games hoped for, which is why the follow-up moved from idea to schedule. He added that Croc 2 was originally built on a totally different engine to Croc, so the remaster had its own remastering challenges even before the content work began.

That matters for the final product because this is not a straight visual polish. The team is restoring the name used during development, pairing enhanced visuals with a range of quality-of-life improvements, and giving players a version built for the Nintendo Switch rather than a simple rerelease.

Croc2pedia adds archive material

Argonaut Games is also assembling the Croc2pedia, an in-game digital museum that folds in never-before-seen development materials, cut content, and interviews with the original and remaster teams. For players, that turns the release into something closer to a playable archive than a standard platformer update.

The game itself sends Croc to the mainland in search of his long-lost parents, while Baron Dante is resurrected by the Dantinis and vows revenge. Croc moves through four distinct villages, rescues captured Gobbos, and faces Guardians including Soveena the Squid, who has an obsession with Ginger Soda.

Over 40 levels, Q4 2026

The remaster runs through over 40 levels of open-ended 3D platforming, with Croc now able to triple jump, ride minecarts, race cars and speedboats, catch air on a hang glider, and take to the skies in a wooden airplane. Jez San OBE said Croc 2 was always the plan once fans embraced the first remaster, and that the move brings the next chapter to modern platforms in HD.

Q4 2026 is the useful detail here: it gives Nintendo Switch players a release window, not a date, so the announcement is a planning signal rather than a finished calendar entry. For now, the next step is simple enough — watch for the narrower launch timing while the remaster’s archive material and expanded platforming stack up behind it.
