Essex Police seized 13 supercars in M11 traffic on Tuesday afternoon, July 28, after multiple reports of dangerous and anti-social driving. The cars were later found at services at Junction 8 near Stansted Airport, and officers handed out 13 warnings before taking all 13 vehicles.

Sergeant Will Willsher said the reported behaviour could have put other road users at serious risk on a busy motorway during peak travel times. He said, “The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social but potentially placed other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times.”
Willsher also said, “Roads Policing Unit officers acted quickly to locate the cars and take appropriate enforcement action.” He added, “Speed limits are there to keep everyone safe and the law applies equally to all road users.”
North East London convoy
The convoy joined the M11 from North East London at 4.20pm. While it was travelling northbound, Essex Police’s control room received multiple reports from concerned members of the public. Witnesses described drivers accelerating at “excessive speed” before “slowing down suddenly”, while also “speeding and heavily braking”.
Witnesses said the drivers were braking heavily, bunching together and disrupting the flow of traffic. They also said the drivers used the hard shoulder to undertake other motorists. That account matches the enforcement response: officers located the vehicles, issued 13 warnings for anti-social driving and seized every car in the group.
Junction 8 seizure
The seizure covered Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, a Ferrari and a Porsche. Essex Police said a number of offences had been identified for investigation and that further enquiries were ongoing. For anyone with dash cam footage of the vehicles travelling northbound on the M11 around the time of the incident, police are asking for it to be passed on by calling 101.
