Elizabeth Waddell Grand Anse search stayed active Friday as Cailen Waddell said the family would travel home from Grenada on July 31. He wrote that the search for his wife would continue even as they left.
Elizabeth Waddell was 44 and disappeared on July 22 after swimming off Grand Anse Beach in St. George's. The Royal Grenada Police Force said she was last seen on surveillance video around noon that day, and her friend reported her missing a few hours later.

“To everyone invested in Liz's story: The family will travel home today, Friday, July 31,” Cailen Waddell wrote on FindLiz.com. He also wrote, “We have done what we can here, and the investigation will continue.”
That step puts the family back in the US while the missing person investigation remains open in Grenada. It also leaves the search effort in the hands of the Royal Grenada Police Force and the people still following the case from afar.

Randy Connaught said on July 28 that the Royal Grenada Police Force was still treating the matter as a missing person investigation. He said, “The Royal Grenada Police Force has not reached or announced any final conclusion regarding the circumstances surrounding Ms. Waddell's missing person status.”
Connaught also said, “At this time, the matter continues to be treated as a missing person investigation.” The timeline the force released runs from July 11, when Elizabeth Waddell arrived in Grenada from Miami with a female friend, through July 22, when she was seen walking toward the jetty, entering the water, and later swimming below the jetty at 12:04 p.m.

Cailen Waddell said on Wednesday that he did not believe foul play was involved after careful consultation with family, local authorities, the U.S. Embassy, and others in Grenada. The couple's friend was seen walking toward the jetty at 12:46 p.m. and returning alone, and Elizabeth Waddell was not seen coming back from the water.
Her friend reported her missing at the South St. George Police Station at 5:50 p.m. on July 22, and the Royal Grenada Police Force issued a missing persons alert on July 23. The unresolved question now is what happened after she was last seen swimming below the jetty, and the case will stay in the missing person investigation until police reach a final conclusion.
