Michael Skarka Says Espn Unlimited Adds NFL Network on July 30

Unlimited gets NFL Network on July 30, and that immediately widens what subscribers can watch inside one app. Michael Skarka’s press-room posting puts the change in concrete terms: live games, re-airs, studio programming and original content are moving into the App for Unlimited plan subscribers.

The package is not cosmetic. It includes 19 NFL preseason games, with some subject to out-of-market restrictions, plus seven NFL regular season games. For a subscriber paying for the DTC Unlimited plan, the point is simple: more live NFL inventory without leaving the app.

19 preseason games in one feed

NFL Network’s preseason schedule will reach App users in two ways. Unlimited plan subscribers get access to 19 preseason games, while the remaining preseason schedule will be available via re-air. That split matters because it separates immediate live access from delayed viewing, and the difference is whether a subscriber can watch in real time or has to wait for the replay window.

The live preseason slate also comes with a limitation: the new NFL Network access is limited to Unlimited plan subscribers, while some preseason games are still subject to out-of-market restrictions. In practical terms, the addition expands access, but it does not flatten the league’s existing distribution rules.

Seven regular season games

Seven NFL regular season games are included, and says those games include five NFL International Series matchups and a Week 16 doubleheader. That gives the app a more recognizable live-game footprint than a simple channel add-on, because the regular season inventory is tied to specific tentpole windows rather than filler programming.

More than 1,500 hours annually of live studio coverage will also flow into the App from NFL Network. That is the part most likely to matter day to day, because it turns the app into a longer-form NFL destination instead of a place for isolated game windows.

Year of the Super Bowl

said the addition fits into its Year of the Super Bowl programming, and the timing points ahead to a larger 2026 NFL slate. That slate includes 17 Monday Night Football matchups, 10 of them simulcast on ABC, plus a Week 18 Saturday doubleheader, a Wild Card playoff game and a Divisional Round matchup.

The longer runway ends with ’s first-ever Super Bowl presentation on Feb. 14, 2027, when Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium. For subscribers, the immediate step is straightforward: if they are on the Unlimited plan, the App becomes the place where the added NFL Network inventory starts on July 30, while the rest of the league’s 2026 package builds toward the bigger event.
