Dalton flew to Scotland to film The Odyssey, where she stood in for Damon in a pivotal scene as Odysseus and his men are confronted by the Laestrygonians. The production used her smaller frame to make Damon and his crew appear dwarfed by the giant armoured cannibals, a practical scale effect that depends on body size as much as camera placement.
That setup gives the role a business-side edge that is easy to miss: stunt work here was not just about matching movement, but about helping the film sell size on screen. Dalton said she trained with muay thai, jiu-jitsu, dance, yoga and strength-based workouts for the role, and she took the responsibility very seriously.
Dalton’s 2026 Fanclub
Dalton’s response also points to a contradiction inside the job itself. She said, “We celebrate men who build careers around being powerful … so why shouldn’t women be celebrated for that too?” and added, “Apparently my biceps have their own fanclub right now, which definitely wasn’t on my 2026 prediction.”
Matt Damon in The Odyssey brought the attention; Dalton’s comments explain the cost of it and the gap it exposes. She said, “Knowing my arms impressed Matt was honestly pretty special,” and she met Damon on set, where she described him as “every bit as genuine, kind and generous as you’d hope.”
