President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he won the Bedminster Club Championship with a score of 70, adding that he also claimed the Senior Division title. The result, which he posted as a “Winning Shot” update, centered on a round Trump described as a 2-under-par effort over 18 holes.

The win stood out not just because of the score, but because Trump tied it to a familiar theme: he said he had very little time to practice before the event. In his post, Trump said that unlike the rest of the field, he was given limited time to prepare because he was focused on other matters.

A course Trump said is difficult

Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster is described as a championship layout with water hazards and deep bunkers, which adds context to why a round of 70 drew attention. The Bedminster Club Championship came on a course that has hosted major golf-related events before, including the Official Pro-Am Tournament in August 2023 ahead of the LIV Golf Invitational Series event at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Bedminster, N.J.

Trump’s latest golf update also fits into a broader timeline of recent public golf appearances. On July 26 to 29, 2025, he visited Trump Turnberry and Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire during a brief trip to Scotland. On July 29, 2025, he watched his drive after playing from the first tee to officially open the Trump International Golf Links course in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire.

The Bedminster result is likely to draw interest because it directly addresses criticism that Trump cannot physically play golf well. Whether seen as a competitive result or a public statement about his game, Trump’s claim was clear: he said he won the Bedminster Club Championship, shot 70, and took home the Senior Division title.
