The California Lottery says the Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $786 million for Wednesday's drawing. The cash value is $341.6 million, and the prize now ranks among the top ten largest jackpots in game history.
Wednesday's drawing
Powerball drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the game is played in 45 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Players choose five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26, with odds of 1 in 292.2 million for the jackpot.
Monday's drawing
No one matched all of the winning numbers in Monday's drawing, even though a $2-million winner was purchased in Wisconsin. The winning numbers were 41-54-48-30-8, and the Powerball number was 4.
Powerball history
The jackpot was last won on May 2, 2026, when two tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million jackpot. The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was $2.040 billion on Nov. 7, 2022, on one ticket in California. Other large prizes included $1.787 billion on Sept. 6, 2025, $1.765 billion on Oct. 11, 2023, $1.586 billion on Jan. 13, 2016, and $1.08 billion on July 19, 2023.
The size of Wednesday's prize leaves players waiting on the next drawing to see whether the run continues or the jackpot gets a winner. If no ticket matches all six numbers, the pool carries forward again.
