This is either a show of trust or a blunt refusal to dress up what happened at the weekend. David Gray has named the same Hibernian starting line-up that lost to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership for Hibernian Vs Shkëndija, and the message is unmistakable: he is not reaching for the panic button just yet.
In a match like this, team selection matters just as much as tactics. European nights are supposed to reward clarity, conviction and a bit of backbone, and Gray has at least given Hibernian all three in one decisive move. The same XI gets the same chance. No excuses, no overreaction, no rewriting the script because of one bruising domestic defeat.
The other headline is Martin Boyle. He had been a doubt, but he is available to start, which is a significant boost for Hibernian.
