Walker said he booked weeks in advance, stayed in contact with the property team, and brought a gift for the opening. He also said he circled twice because the approach road was unclear, then reached the gate where a staff member addressed him by name before he identified himself.

Walker said in the video description that the property runs at over $5,000 base rate per night minimum, and he referred to a $6,000 nightly rate in the recorded narration. He also said he received six or seven marketing emails that same day announcing the opening. That mix of public promotion and a blocked arrival is what gave the footage its immediate reach.
Amanvari email and police response
Walker read from an email he said arrived the previous evening. It said the resort had taken “the difficult decision to reduce arrivals over the coming days while we complete this work,” and added, “Regrettably, this affects your stay and we are unable to welcome you as planned.” Walker said the cancellation arrived inside 24 hours with no telephone follow-up.
At the gate, Walker said he asked twice for a manager and was told, “This is a private property.” He then said police were called. Itsalexbrown, his videographer, wrote in the video’s comment section that “The security guard escalated the situation almost immediately and called the police on us for just trying to check in to the hotel,” and added that a Mexican military police vehicle stopped the group as they left the area.

Amanvari opened in East Cape, Baja California Sur, roughly two hours by road from Los Cabos. Walker said in the video, “This is a hard launch. This is not a soft launch of the hotel.” He also read the email as evidence that the resort was still changing arrival plans while marketing the opening.
