Taron Egerton is joining Season 2 of HBO’s I Love LA in a guest role, adding another name to a comedy that barely had time to breathe before getting a second season. HBO renewed the series after only three episodes had aired, and the new run is expected to span eight episodes.
Jamie Chung Joins I Love LA
Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, Jessy Hodges, and Milan Carter are also joining the Season 2 cast, bringing the total batch of new additions to 6. HBO is keeping character details under wraps, so the show is still treating the guest roles as a blank slate rather than handing out story beats in advance.
Rachel Sennott and Los Angeles
Rachel Sennott stars as Maia, an aspiring talent manager trying to gain traction in the industry, while the series follows a young friend group trying to stay visible in Los Angeles. Egerton’s move lands with extra contrast because his recent screen work has been leaning darker. He is in production on Kockroach with Chris Hemsworth and Zazie Beetz, has the LuckyChap-produced comedy thriller Everybody Wants to F**ck Me on deck, and still has a return to the Kingsman franchise looming. He also drew notice in Apex, which landed on Netflix on Apr. 24, 2026, and Charlize Theron said, "He's rated very, very high in my best actors that I've ever worked with."
Eight Episodes, One Guest Spot
The combination of an early renewal, 6 new cast additions, and an eight-episode season suggests HBO is building I Love LA as a fast-moving ensemble comedy rather than a slow-burn experiment.
