Phil Jamieson concert cancelled in Australia after a fall onstage in Victoria left him with a fractured L1 and forced the PJ Air solo tour off the road. The 49-year-old said the injury made it impossible to keep going, and the run that had been scheduled through Sept. 12 has now been pulled.
The Deck Traralgon fall
On Friday, Aug. 7, Jamieson said he slipped on stage at The Deck Traralgon, where his spine connected with the drum riser. He was taken by ambulance to Latrobe Hospital and spent most of Friday in emergency getting different tests before learning at 4am that he had fractured his L1.
“On Friday night I slipped on stage and my spine connected to the drum riser. I was unable to continue with the gig and got an ambulance to Latrobe Hospital,” he wrote in An Instagram post. The same post said he had a prescription of bed rest and “a long road to recovery,” and that “the tour is cancelled:(”.
Refunds through Venues and
He also said venues and ticketing agencies should be reaching out to fans soon about refunds. That is the practical next step for anyone holding a ticket: watch the channels that issued the purchase, because the notice places the refund process with the sellers rather than with fans chasing it individually.
The collapse of the route reaches beyond one night. A June An Instagram post had shown the full PJ Air solo tour, including support from Ricky Albeck and Nici Ward, and the final stop had been set for Magnums in Queensland on Sept. 12.

Jamieson also had to cancel the launch party for his new solo album, 10Charlie, which is due out on Friday, Aug. 14. He added, “No-one is more bummed about this than me, but I can't stand up let alone play a gig at the moment,” a blunt line that tells the story better than any polished notice could.
For now, the tour is over and the record release is still on the calendar. The unanswered part is how long he will be out of action after fracturing his L1, and that is the detail fans and ticket buyers will keep watching.
