A120 at Galleys Corner

The incident took place on a route drivers use as a through road, so police are focusing on people who were near Galleys Corner before or after the collision. That includes anyone who saw the black VW Polo moving along the A120, or who captured it on dashcam shortly before 7pm.

Police and other road users now have a specific task: match the vehicle’s last known direction towards Dunmow with any fresh information from the scene. The missing front registration plate and front-end damage give investigators two concrete markers to compare with any footage or witness account.

The unanswered point is who was driving the black VW Polo when it left Galleys Corner. Until that is established, the best leads are the vehicle’s damaged front end, the missing plate, and any recording that places it on the A120 towards Dunmow.
