The Queen was in the Scottish village less than eight miles from Balmoral Castle during the King and Queen's traditional summer break. Camilla left Kt Boutique grinning and clutching two additional bags, while she and her sister each carried a small paper bag after leaving A.B. Yule.

Ballater and Kt Boutique

Camilla was dressed casually in jeans, a blue shirt, a navy jumper and a Parker jacket. Laura Lopes and Eliza Lopes left Kt Boutique with their arms full of shopping bags, and the four women moved together through the village before returning to the car.

Gus and Harry Lopes, both 16-year-old twin grandsons, also joined the outing and appeared to head straight back into the car after popping into the newsagents. Two plain-clothed police protection officers accompanied the family, adding a visible layer of security to an otherwise low-key visit.

Balmoral Castle stay

The outing fits a pattern locals know well during stays at Balmoral Castle, where members of the Royal Family are used to popping into Ballater. Camilla made a similar visit last summer with her sister, daughter and granddaughter, putting this Monday’s trip in a familiar sequence rather than a one-off appearance.

The practical takeaway is simple: Ballater remains the place where this summer stay turns public, briefly, and Eliza Lopes was part of the family group seen there this time. What prompted the shopping trip on Monday was not explained.
