Kim Zolciak’s Son KJ Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges

Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Jr., was arrested Monday, August 17, in Alpharetta, Georgia, on charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault. A judge did not set bond, and KJ was being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center.

The preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 8. That gives the case its next court date while the arrest adds a criminal case involving a minor to the family’s ongoing custody dispute.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann

KJ is one of the sons Kim Zolciak shares with Kroy Biermann. The two married in 2011, and KJ was born the same year; they later welcomed Kash in 2012 and twins Kaia and Kane in 2013. Biermann adopted Ariana and Brielle from a previous relationship.

The divorce proceedings became public in 2023 and remain ongoing. Biermann requested sole custody of the exes’ minor children, accused Zolciak of neglect, and said she was unfit and unstable to parent their kids.

March and April statements

Zolciak rejected those claims in March, saying, “These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character.” She also said, “I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for — something I will never apologize for.”

In April, Zolciak said the custody arrangements had not been modified. She wrote that both parents were to take part in two counseling sessions per month for two months, then one session per month after that. She also said she had been out of the country from February 26 through March 28 because of contractual filming obligations on two separate productions.

Her April statement added that Kroy had the children for spring break under the existing agreement and that her counseling sessions were scheduled to be completed the next week. The case now moves to the September 8 hearing, where the court is positioned to take the next step in a juvenile case that already sits inside a broader custody fight.
