A 32-year-old man died on 1 September after being attacked at Liverpool Street Tube station. Emergency services were called to the eastbound Central line platform at 10:51 BST on 30 August, and the man was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
British Transport Police said it will apply to amend the charge at a later date at court. Jeremiah Maximo, 38, of Drydock Square, Barking, had already been charged with grievous bodily harm before the man's death.
