Vikrant Mathur backs Miss World 2026 free streaming on Fawesome

Miss World 2026 will stream free on Fawesome on September 5, putting the grand finale from Nha Trang, Vietnam, on a platform that does not require a cable subscription. The move gives the pageant a wider reach than the old TV-first model, with the stream set for 6 a.m. PT and 9 a.m. ET.

Vikrant Mathur, co-founder of Future Today, said, "Miss World has spent seven decades turning a global stage into a platform for community impact, and that is exactly the kind of programming free streaming should be democratizing." He added, "Twenty years ago, an event like this sat behind a cable subscription. On Fawesome, it takes two clicks and costs nothing."

That shift is the point. Future Today-owned Fawesome now holds the global free streaming rights for the event, a distribution play that treats a live pageant finale like premium digital programming rather than a gated TV special. David Di Lorenzo, senior vice president of content acquisitions and partnerships at Future Today, said, "Live event programming is quickly becoming a cornerstone of the Fawesome experience."

Suchata Chuangsri returns

Suchata Chuangsri, the current Miss World titleholder, won the 2025 Miss World event in India. Her presence gives this year’s finale a direct link to the reigning title and keeps the focus on the competition itself, not just the platform carrying it.

Miss World began in London, UK, in 1951, and the format still leans on Beauty with a Purpose, the Head-to-Head live debate, and the Top Model runway section. Emma Gosling, the official distributor of the Miss World Live Event, said the show is airing across 100 countries worldwide, which is a far bigger footprint than a single domestic broadcast window.

100-country reach

Emma Gosling also said, "Partnering with Fawesome in North America allows us to meet viewers wherever and however they choose to engage. It gives our contestants, their Beauty with a Purpose initiatives and our global audience a modern stage." That matters in a market where The CW dropped the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants in August, leaving fewer old-line TV slots for live pageant programming.

The better read here is simple: the finale is no longer being handled as a niche television event. It is being distributed as a free, global stream, and that should make the September 5 broadcast easier to find for viewers in North America and beyond while keeping the title race in front of a much larger live audience.
