Michael Wolff says Donald Trump’s hair maintenance has a travel-ready backup: a portable Trump hair patch kit that follows him around the country. On the Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Wolff described a system built for quick fixes, with patches that match different hair colors and paste to apply them when needed.

Wolff said the kit includes “small tufts of hair that match whatever color his hair might be at the time,” and that they are applied with paste. He said Trump still handles much of the upkeep himself at 80, even though the emergency kit has been around since at least his first term. That makes the routine sound less like a single styling choice than a standing maintenance setup that can move with him.

Wolff also tied the description back to Ivanka and Fire and Fury, saying, “He described the way that his hair came together, of having to tease it in certain ways and having to pull it in certain ways and having to fluff it in certain ways. And so you kind of created this confection on top.” In other words, the patch kit fits a longer account of careful, hands-on upkeep rather than a one-off anecdote.
The detail lands against Trump’s own public denials about wearing a wig. This week he said he does not wear one, and he has made the same point before while recalling a 2024 rally in Ohio, where he said strong wind proved the claim. Wolff’s account complicates that line without changing the basic fact that Trump keeps talking about his hair in public.
White House response
The White House did not respond to an email seeking comment on Wolff’s claims. What remains most specific is the mechanism itself: color-matched patches, paste, and a kit that travels with him. Wolff said it dates back to at least the first term, which leaves the immediate practical question on the table — who carries it now.
