The Walmart Great Value berry recall expanded on September 3 after the FDA added Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend to a July recall tied to potential E. coli contamination. The frozen mix was sold in 16 states, and the agency told shoppers to stop eating it.
Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend contains strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. The product was sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin.
July recall and September 3
The berries were manufactured by Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A. The original July recall covered GreenWise brand organic blueberries and was first reflected in a July 6 enforcement report. On September 3, the FDA widened the recall list to include the Walmart product sold in select stores.
The expansion matters because it moves the issue from one frozen blueberry item to a mixed-berry product sold under a different brand. For shoppers, that means a package bought for a different label can still fall under the same food-safety action if it came from the recalled supply chain.
Walmart return guidance
The FDA said there were no reported illnesses associated with the expanded recall when it announced the action. Even so, it told consumers not to eat the berries, to throw them away, or to return them to Walmart for a full refund.
Anyone who already ate the recalled berries and has health concerns should contact a doctor right away. The affected product is a frozen fruit blend, so shoppers checking their freezers should look for Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend rather than assume only single-fruit bags are covered.

The agency’s September 3 enforcement report also linked the recall back to the earlier July action involving the same manufacturer.
