Apple said iOS 27 will roll out widely on Monday, September 14, and the answer to when does iOS 27 come out is around 10 a.m. Pacific Time, or 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The update will appear in Settings under General → Software Update. iPhone 11 series devices can install it, but Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features stop at iPhone 15 Pro and newer.
That split matters because the base software reaches a broad iPhone install base while the most visible new capabilities stay locked to newer hardware. Apple is pushing one update to many users, but it is not pushing the same feature set to everyone.
Settings at 10 a.m. Pacific Time
The rollout window gives users a practical starting point instead of an all-day guess. If the release behaves as Apple described, the update should surface first in Settings and then under General → Software Update, where people can pull it manually instead of waiting for an automatic prompt.
For anyone who wants the new build as soon as it lands, that path is the only action item. Check the update screen after the stated time, then install from the device itself.
iPhone 11 series and iPhone 15 Pro
Apple says iPhone 11 series phones and newer can take iOS 27. That keeps older compatible devices on the list for the operating system itself, even if they do not get the full software story Apple is selling around Siri AI and Apple Intelligence.
Those features are limited to iPhone 15 Pro and newer. In practice, that means a user can be eligible for iOS 27 and still miss the parts most likely to change day-to-day use, including Siri AI’s access to personal information on the device, on-screen awareness, and actions in more apps that support it.
Siri AI and Apple Intelligence limits
Apple also said Siri AI starts in English, carries daily usage limits, and will later be offered more widely for a fee. The company added that Siri AI will not be initially available in the EU on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27.
For now, the practical question is hardware, not hype. If your iPhone is in the iPhone 11 series, you can install the update when it appears. If you want Siri AI and the rest of Apple Intelligence, the cutoff is iPhone 15 Pro, and the broader access path comes later and is not free.
