Jalen Hurts climbed to QB2 in the fantasy trade analyzer for Week 2, and the move came with Tennessee on the schedule. Josh Allen stayed QB1, but the gap between the top two was only 2.4 points.
Hurts and the Titans
Philadelphia gets Tennessee, and the matchup is the reason Hurts moved up. The Titans were rated 29th on defense in the NFL and 28th in EPA per Pass Allowed in Week 1, which put a softer number behind the ranking shift than raw quarterback reputation alone.
Hurts is the kind of weekly decision this ranking is built to answer. If a quarterback can climb to QB2 against a defense graded that low, the projection is telling fantasy managers to treat the matchup as part of the player value, not just the jersey name.
Bo Nix after Week 1
Bo Nix took the other direction after Week 1. He finished as QB31 with 131 passing yards and 2 rushing yards, a line that pushed him down in the Week 2 projections and made him harder to trust in lineup builds.
That drop also separates him from the quarterbacks the projection group was willing to label startable. Matthew Stafford was listed as one of the week’s must-starts, while Jaxson Dart checked in as QB6 and Caleb Williams sat at QB11, showing that the board rewarded stronger situations and cleaner recent production.
Lawrence and the Broncos
Trevor Lawrence added the clearest complication. He was QB4 in 2025 fantasy football and had 4 touchdowns with 0 interceptions on Sunday, but he still landed at QB14 for Week 2 because of a tougher matchup against the Broncos’ tier-1 coverage.
That is the part fantasy managers have to sort through now: recent scoring can push a quarterback up, but the matchup can still cap the projection. For Week 2, Hurts sits near the top, Nix sits well outside the reliable range, and Lawrence lands in the middle as the harder call.
