Oktoberfest returned to Downtown Carrollton on Saturday, October 3, and the day was built around a tight run of activities rather than a single stage or venue. Brown Dog Eatery, Dream City Brewing, The Amp, and Local Ties all had parts to play, turning the fall celebration into a downtown crawl with food, music, and family-friendly stops.
The schedule started at 10am, when Brown Dog Eatery handled the Brown Dog of the Year award and costume contest. Brown Dog Eatery then moved into Dogtoberfest food at 11am, with German-inspired food served as part of the day’s offer. For a downtown event, that kind of pacing matters: it spreads traffic across several businesses instead of crowding one location.
Brian Crews and Julie Anne Steed
Brian Crews and Julie Anne Steed performed from 12–3pm, giving the middle of the day a live-music anchor. Dream City Brewing also hosted kids’ activities and crafts, while The Amp added football and cornhole, so the event mixed entertainment with low-friction, drop-in activities that kept people moving through Downtown Carrollton.
At 3pm, Dream City Brewing hosted a Stein Hoist Competition, one of the more specific contests on the schedule. By putting a timed strength challenge beside food service, crafts, and music, Oktoberfest leaned into a format that rewards staying power as much as attendance at a single performance.
Shell Echo Arrangement and Ociffer
Shell Echo Arrangement and Ociffer were set for 7:30pm, closing the day with another live set after the afternoon run from Brian Crews and Julie Anne Steed. Local Ties and Dream City Brewing were also part of the music lineup, which made the event feel less like a one-off stop and more like a shared downtown program built around local businesses.
The upside for attendees was simple: one Saturday, one district, and a full slate of food, contests, music, and seasonal activities. The open question is how long Oktoberfest has been held in Downtown Carrollton before this year’s return, but on October 3 the event already showed the model clearly — spread the crowd, spread the offerings, and give the whole downtown a reason to stay busy.
