A Brush Too Much will join DIY SOS on One this Tuesday at 8pm for the Glasgow episode, helping transform the home of Raymond and his children, Kai and Nell. The build is designed around Nell’s needs, after the family’s life changed following the loss of Gill.
Andy and the Glasgow build
Andy said getting involved was a no-brainer because of Nell and her family’s story, and the business is bringing in Liam, Oscar and Callum as part of the team. That puts a Blantyre decorating company into a large home transformation already built around tradespeople and volunteers, with the work focused on making the property more accessible for the future.
Nell’s wheelchair needs
Nell uses a wheelchair and needed a home that would allow her to live with greater independence. Raymond gave up his job as a plumber to become her full-time carer, which leaves the episode centred on practical access rather than cosmetic work.
The family’s story is positive in direction but rooted in loss and adjustment: Gill is gone, and the home had to be reshaped to fit the reality of daily care. A Brush Too Much has already been through one DIY SOS build before, travelling from Scotland to Cheshire for a Children in Need build for The Joshua Tree that ran for 12 days and doubled the size of the Family Support Centre.

Andy said the build was one of the best experiences they have ever had and that working alongside volunteers from so many different trades, as well as the DIY SOS team, was incredibly special.
