Celeste opens Arc Raiders' Frozen Trail Update with the Outpost, and the update is scheduled for October 8. That puts Pendola Pass, the Frigate, and new enemy types in front of Raiders before the rest of the release lands.
Before October 8, Celeste and Shani triangulated the source of a strange signal ringing across Toledo, and the trail points to Pendola Pass. The area is described as an old Italian village and Exodus transport hub, with a supermarket, a lifeless town square, an observatory, and a buried train depot. One of the Emperors has fallen there, which gives the location a clear place in the update’s structure rather than treating it as a simple new map.
Pendola Pass and the Frigate
One of the largest vessels in ARC’s fleet is heading to the area, and Raiders have started calling it the Frigate. Its internal passageways and locked routes turn the ship into more than a backdrop; players will have to move through it, unlock paths, and deal with ARC new and old along the way.
The promise of Pendola Pass is matched by a scrambled ARC response, brutal flash freezes, and a hostile Frigate patrol. That combination suggests the update is building pressure through route control and layered access, not just adding a fresh destination to visit and clear.
Bully, Skulker, Hydra
The Frozen Trail Update also adds the Bully, a new machine-learned enemy described as an oppressive, aggressive beast. The Skulker lies in wait and skirts the edges of vision, while the Hydra is a turret split into three stacked and autonomous portions and is found upon the Frigate.
Celeste is also offering Raiders the Outpost, a home away from home nested between the Rust Belt and a perilous mountain range. It is framed as the first step to reclaiming parts of the surface, and Raiders can customize it with different modules and furniture, so the update extends progression beyond the field and into a persistent base of operations. The practical question now is how far that system goes once the update arrives on October 8.
