Ed Sheeran concert cancelled plans hit two Massachusetts shows on Friday and Saturday after severe weather warnings forced Gillette Stadium to call off the dates. Fans with tickets to the Foxborough venue now move straight into the refund process, while the tour absorbs another hit after a week already defined by controversy.

Gillette Stadium said, "Due to the severe weather warnings in place in Boston and across New England throughout the weekend and following consultation with local officials, the promoter and tour have made the difficult decision to cancel the Ed Sheeran concerts at Gillette Stadium." The venue added, "The decision was made with the safety of fans, staff and everyone involved in the shows as the top priority."
"Refunds are available now at the point of purchase. Ticketholders who purchased through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded," the venue said. That leaves no action for Ticketmaster buyers beyond watching the credit return, while anyone who bought elsewhere has to go back through the original point of purchase.
Friday and Saturday in Massachusetts
Sheeran had been scheduled for two shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, near Boston, as part of his current US tour. Weather warnings for high winds stayed in force until the early hours of Sunday, and officials told drivers to minimise travel.
The timing gives the cancellation a practical edge: it was not just a single lost date, but two consecutive nights pulled from the run. For a touring operation, that means the disruption lands on both staging and ticketing at once, with the refund system now doing the only work left to do.
Macklemore pressure
The tour had already been in the headlines because of the row over dropping Macklemore as a support act. Last week, Sheeran returned to the stage and told fans he "had to take and make difficult decisions - and I am making mistakes - and I'm so, so sorry" after the fallout around the change.
That matters because the weather cancellation arrived on top of an already fragile stretch for the tour, not in isolation. The shows are off, the money goes back, and the only open question left is whether the Friday and Saturday dates will ever be rebuilt into the schedule.
