Bella Ramsey is set to join Bella Traitors in 2026. The actor said acting skills could help if they need to lie on Celebrity Traitors, because people would spot them instantly.
“I do think [acting skills] can give you a bit of an edge. For me, anyway, because again, if I was telling a lie, people would spot me instantly. Playing a character, it’s like that’s what I do!” Ramsey said ahead of Celebrity Traitors. It is the clearest sign yet that the show will ask them to trade scripted work for a game built on reading faces and keeping a straight story.
Celebrity Traitors in 2026
The 2026 cast puts Ramsey into their first real unscripted television appearance after years of character work in Game of Thrones and The Last Of Us. Ramsey’s breakout came in Game of Thrones as Lyanna Mormont, and they later played Ellie in The Last Of Us alongside Pedro Pascal. Those roles brought nominations at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards and TV BAFTAs.
Celebrity Traitors also places Ramsey alongside other out LGBTQ+ names in the series, including Sebastian Croft, Joe Lycett and Myha’la. That gives the casting a sharper profile than a standard celebrity line-up: the draw is not just who is famous, but who is being asked to compete in a format that rewards misdirection over performance.
Pronouns and public self
Ramsey’s comments about lying land differently because they have also been direct about identity. Earlier in 2026, they told that they/them pronouns “feel the most accurate”, yet in May 2025 they said, “I’ve never been strict about they/them, because I think I just don’t really care.”
They added, “I was so stressed out about it, because I didn’t know and I didn’t really care,” and, “My thing right now is, call me how you see me.” Ramsey also said, “I’m so aware that I’ll get in a taxi and the driver will call me she because it’s a natural thing which happens in your brain, which I completely get.”
What the 2026 move changes
Ramsey first came out publicly as non-binary in January 2023, then told British Vogue in 2023 that they are “not 100 per cent straight” and, “I’m a little bit wavy, you know? That’s what I like to say.” The long arc matters because Celebrity Traitors is set up as the first time audiences will watch Ramsey without a character buffer.
For viewers, that means the key question is not whether Ramsey can act. It is whether that skill survives contact with a game where every pause, glance and answer becomes part of the evidence. Ramsey has already said the cast would spot them instantly if they were lying, and 2026 will be the first time to see whether that reads as modesty or a warning.
