Türkiye will face Italy away in the UEFA Uluslar A Ligi 1. Grup 4. hafta maçı at 21:45 ET, but Vincenzo Montella will have to do so without Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz. Both players were booked in the Belgium match and are suspended for this trip.
The timing matters because Türkiye enters the match with no points after three group games. That leaves little room for error against an Italy side that also has work to do after taking only one point from its first two matches.
Türkiye’s group position
Türkiye opened the group with a 1-0 loss to Fransa in Kocaeli, then fell 4-1 to Italy in Bursa before losing 3-0 away to Belgium. Those results leave Montella’s team searching for its first point of the campaign as the schedule moves into the fourth round.
Italy’s path through the group has been uneven as well. The team lost 2-0 at home to Belgium and drew 1-1 away with Fransa, which means both sides arrive in need of a clean, efficient performance.
Officials and squad picture
The match will be overseen by Szymon Marciniak, with Tomasz Listkiewicz, Adam Kupsik and Karol Arys also assigned to the game. Türkiye’s 29-man candidate squad was named by Montella, and the absence of Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz is the clearest change from the group’s earlier matches.
The fixture also fits into a longer stretch for Türkiye, which will continue its group stage in November with away matches against Fransa and a home game against Belçika in İzmir. For now, the focus is on limiting mistakes, finding stability, and trying to leave Italy with something to show for the trip.
