Noodle Alley said a young staff member was assaulted after chasing dine and dash customers in Manchester’s Chinatown and ended up in A&E. The restaurant shared CCTV and an appeal after the incident, and police are now involved.
The family business said three young men entered carrying Selfridges shopping bags, ate a meal, and left without paying on Sunday. Two slipped out first, and the third was chased by a staff member.

Noodle Alley said the worker had treated the customers kindly and did not expect that kindness to come back to her like this. The restaurant also said a violent man sent its staff to A&E over an unpaid meal, while describing the worker as emotionally affected by what happened.
The alleged assault happened outside the restaurant’s CCTV range, so the footage only shows the lead-up and the moment the group left. Noodle Alley said this was the second time it had appealed about a dine-and-dash customer in the last few months, and that this incident went far beyond previous cases.

The restaurant’s appeal puts the focus on the chase itself: unpaid meals, a staff member trying to recover the bill, and a confrontation that ended in hospital. For customers, the practical result is simple — a routine refusal to pay can turn into a police matter when a worker is hurt during the pursuit.
Police are involved, but the CCTV does not show the assault and the restaurant has not identified any of the three young men. That leaves the next step with investigators and with the footage Noodle Alley has already chosen to make public.
