Kate Middleton And Princess Charlotte Outing: Elizabeth line ride draws commuters

Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte outing drew attention on Saturday when the pair were filmed traveling on the Elizabeth line in Central London. They got off at Tottenham Court Road, and Princess Charlotte, 11, was described as amazed by her surroundings.

Commuters saw Catherine with her phone for a couple of minutes while the pair rode across from members of the public. An eyewitness said they seemed very relaxed, were chatting together, smiling, and seemed very happy.

Tottenham Court Road stop

The trip ended when Kate Middleton held her daughter's hand as they exited at Tottenham Court Road. The pair appeared to be dressed formally, with Middleton in a maroon ensemble and brown heels, and Charlotte in navy tights and ballet flats.

A source said they had security with them, but it did not make the ride obvious and tried to make the tube journey as normal as possible. That left the outing looking public to commuters and protected at the same time, which is part of why it stood out.

Kensington Palace response

Kensington Palace did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. The lack of a palace statement leaves the ride as a snapshot of what was seen on Saturday: a public tube trip, a short chat with passengers, and a stop at Tottenham Court Road.

The outing also fit a pattern. Kate Middleton and Prince William rode the same line and got off at the same stop in 2023, and Kate Middleton said in 2013 that she missed underground rides.

For commuters, the practical takeaway is simple: the pair moved through a normal station flow, not a closed route, and the only documented next step is that they left Tottenham Court Road together.
