Noodles Offspring: Kevin Wasserman Steps Away Before 3 Shows

Kevin Wasserman is stepping away from live performances, and the noodles offspring announcement lands days before The Offspring hits a run of dates in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Mexico City. He said he needs time to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue.

Wasserman posted the statement to The Offspring’s Instagram on October 21, 2026, and kept the message direct: “It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue.” He added, “I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart.”

The timing matters because the band is already set for Saturday, October 24 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, then Friday, November 6 at SEMA Fest in Las Vegas, and November 21 at Corona Capital 2026 in Mexico City. Wasserman did not name a replacement, so the live lineup for those dates now carries an immediate practical question: who plays his parts if he cannot return in time.

That uncertainty is the point of friction here. The rest of The Offspring said they have his back and will keep rocking in his absence, but the announcement does not turn that support into a staffing plan. For promoters and ticket holders, the schedule still stands; the open issue is whether the band keeps the same format for all three appearances or adjusts the stage setup around whoever fills in.

The Offspring in 1986

Wasserman is not a short-term guest in the group’s story. He is identified as The Offspring’s guitarist, and the background attached to the announcement reaches back to 1986, when Manic Subsidal changed its name to The Offspring after Wasserman had already played guitar in Clowns Of Death. That history gives the break more weight than a routine absence; this is a core player stepping out of the live rotation, not a temporary line-item change.

Wasserman closed with a note that lands harder than the logistics: “Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it.” The practical answer for fans is simple enough for now — the next three shows remain on the calendar, but the band has not named who will cover his role, and Wasserman says he wants back sooner rather than later without saying when that will be.
