Jack Ross suspended after Turning Point Uk contract killing footage

Jack Ross was suspended from the Conservative Party after footage showed him discussing contract killing and other violent options with an undercover reporter, including saying “What do you want done?” The case now moves to a police review in Scotland and scrutiny of his role at Turning Point UK.

Contract Killers and the Far Right

Ross was filmed in 2022 telling the reporter to “keep it simple” and listing what could be bought for cash, including murder. In the footage, he also said, “They can just kick the fuck out of someone. That’s a certain amount. They can start cutting people’s faces up, that’s another amount. And they can stab someone. They can shoot someone. They can kill someone.”

He was not presented in the footage as a fringe figure only. Ross was the chief executive of Turning Point UK, and a Bow Group profile page lists him as a research fellow and says he has advised MPs and candidates on political and digital strategy.

Scotland review

Police in Scotland said they will be reviewing and assessing the Al Jazeera documentary Contract Killers and the Far Right for any criminality. The documentary says Ross introduced an undercover reporter to a violent criminal from Glasgow with links to the paramilitary Ulster Volunteer Force, and that the Glasgow contact offered to have people killed for money.

Al Jazeera said it approached Ross with a fictitious family problem involving a deceased uncle’s business and a gang takeover threat. Ross replied that he could broker from there but needed to keep his name out of it if there was backlash. He later said, “I have had a few things and some of the Zims [Zimbabweans] have said to me they want stuff done. They wanted a fucking shooter.”

Turning Point UK links

The footage adds pressure on Turning Point UK because Ross had already been associated with the group’s public profile. The movement was launched as a student movement and later became increasingly involved in anti-migrant street protests, while Ross and Nick Tenconi visited the Conservative conference together in 2022.

That overlap leaves a direct question for the party and the police review: whether the material stays a disciplinary case or turns into something more serious. Ross said, “I said I was not putting fucking prints on anything,” a line that now sits at the center of the footage under review.
