This City Is Ours Cast is back in series two seventeen months after the first series ended, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson is again central as Cheryl. The return keeps the gang drama moving at pace, with the review saying the acting remains terrific.
Marbella, Cheryl, and Michael
Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays Cheryl, who is in Marbella while Michael moves her late husband’s remains into a makeshift grave. She reacts with, “’Ee’s gone,” as the scene turns a burial into one more act of damage control for a crew that cannot keep grief and crime apart.
That sequence gives series two its clearest structural shift: the story is not resetting, it is dealing with the mess left behind. The review also points to a car wash scene as exquisitely palpitation-inducing, which tells you the show is still using ordinary places to stage pressure-cooker violence.
Felipe’s poolside lair
Felipe kidnaps Michael, Cheryl, and Diana at gunpoint and locks them up in his poolside lair. He says, “I hem yor fokin’ host,” then demands to know who killed Ricardo, with “fockin’ killed” and “fockin’ truth!” hanging over the confrontation as the terms of release.
Michael is trying to go straight, but the attempt collapses almost immediately under gangland violence and kidnapping. He is still carrying the aftermath of Ronnie Phelan shooting Davy for leaking information about a drug deal, and Michael later plunges a kitchen knife into Ronnie’s pyjamas after Ronnie murders Davy.
Sean Bean and Ozzie Thompson
Sean Bean remains part of the cast, alongside James Nelson-Joyce, Stephen Walters, Hannah Onslow, Álvaro Morte, and Shaun “Endeavour” Evans, who appears as newcomer Ozzie Thompson. The series keeps its focus on the core group even as fresh faces enter the frame, which helps the second run feel like a continuation rather than a restart.
Ricardo was run over at the end of the first series, so Felipe’s obsession with the killer gives series two its main unanswered pressure point. That is the cleanest reason to keep watching: the cast is carrying a story that has not closed the book on who pulled the whole operation off balance.
