Apple announced the new 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro with M6 in Cupertino, California. Pre-orders start on October 28, and availability begins Friday, November 6.
Shelly Goldberg, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, said the 14-inch MacBook Pro is “the pro laptop of choice for a wide range of users — from college students, to business professionals across every industry, to multidisciplinary creators doing it all on one device.”
M6, 24 hours, and Wi‑Fi 7
The new model offers up to 24 hours of battery life. It also includes Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, which matters for buyers who want fewer bottlenecks when they move between networks, accessories, and a desk setup.
Apple says the M6 chip has a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. The company says the GPU delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics than M5 and up to 25 percent faster AI workloads than M5.
Liquid Retina XDR and Center Stage
The laptop also includes a Liquid Retina XDR display with a nano-texture option, a 12MP Center Stage camera, and an immersive six-speaker sound system. Those are the kinds of upgrades that matter when a laptop shifts from occasional use to long work sessions, video calls, and content creation.
Goldberg said the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 delivers “a fantastic combination of performance, capability, and value.” That value claim lands without a price attached, so buyers still do not have the one number that usually decides whether a laptop is worth the upgrade.
macOS 27 and the missing price
The machine works with macOS 27 and comes in space black and silver. For existing MacBook Pro owners, the real question is not whether the spec sheet improved, but whether the jump in AI performance and battery life is enough to justify waiting until November 6 or replacing a machine now.
